Melanio Oliva began growing tobacco in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba in 1886. In the early 1920s, his son, Hipolito Oliva, took over growing operations. Hipolito's son, Gilberto Oliva, eventually took over operations and in the early 60s he began searching other countries in order to find the fertile ground necessary to create the distinct Cuban cigar taste sought after by enthusiasts and growers alike. He eventually found that ground in Nicaragua and Oliva's operations today are the second largest Cuban-seed tobacco production in Nicaragua. Oliva manufactures a number of different blends, including the highly rated Serie G, as well as the Serie O, Serie V and Master Blends III line. Oliva cigars are exquisite Nicaraguan cigars. If you are looking for a true Nicaraguan, you've come to the right place.
